EDOPTIONS™ MAPS OUT THE WORLD New geography course educates students on global issues ARLINGTON, Va. – EdOptions just added another geography course to its social studies curriculum. Geography: A Comprehensive Study is a full-credit offering that builds upon Geography: An Introduction, which was released during the 2008 term. The full-credit version of Geography goes beyond the basic features of each region around the globe. “It provides in-depth case studies on particular geographic topics, as well as real-life examples as to how geography is impacting the lives of people across the world,” said Ben Yzaguirre, curriculum project manager. With the most updated information and cutting-edge technology, the new course keeps students savvy to the changing world environment. The comprehensive study will replace Geography v.1, bringing increased rigor and high-interest content. It also expands the lessons in the introductory course with case studies focusing on specific and current geographic issues around the globe. Janice Wilder, EdOptions’ vice president of academics and curriculum development, explained that the course includes a number of interactive maps as well as animations to enhance student understanding. “These new features create different learning opportunities for all students,” she said. EdOptions™ is an award-winning education technology firm located in Arlington, Virginia. The company’s premier product, Stars Suite™, currently serves about 200,000 students nationwide and features more than 40 middle and high school courses, and Web-based solutions for state test preparation, high school preparation and GED study.
