BLUE RIDGE RECOGNIZED AS DISTANCE EDUCATION SCHOOL

The online school is one of three private schools in the state of Virginia

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Commission on Accreditation, created by the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE), has recognized Blue Ridge International Academy as a private school in the state of Virginia. Blue Ridge is one of only three distance education schools recognized in Virginia by VCPE.

“While this approval is not required for Blue Ridge to operate,” said Greg Eckles, educational director for Blue Ridge International Academy, “it is certainly something we sought because VCPE is a reliable organization and gives Blue Ridge credibility.”

VCPE’s mission is to promote and support private education through accreditation and advocacy.

Blue Ridge offers diplomas recognized by schools and colleges across the country and around the world. The online school is nationally and internationally accredited by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA), the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

Credits earned through Blue Ridge are honored nation- and world-wide.

“We uphold the highest standards in online learning set forth by NAAS, CITA, and SACS CASI,” said Eckles. “We strive to improve student achievement from here at home, in Virginia, across the world.”

Blue Ridge International Academy is owned by EdOptions, creators of Stars Suite™ Web-based curriculum. Accredited by NAAS, CITA and SACS, Blue Ridge International Academy awards high school diplomas and provides online learning and qualified teachers to students and schools around the world.
