PRESIDENT BUSH ADDRESSES EDOPTIONS™ AT 2008 SMALL BUSINESS SUMMIT ARLINGTON, Va. – President George W. Bush met with small business leaders Friday, April 18 to address what actions his Administration is taking to help America’s small businesses. As a representative from a small business that has benefited from Bush’s 2008 Economic Stimulus Act, EdOptions CEO Tom Sawner was in attendance, and included in the President’s remarks. “He provides Web-based curricula to schools all across the country,“ said the President about Sawner in his address. “He's a doer, an achiever, and he's got him a small business called Educational Options…This year, so far, he has hired four new employees, and he plans to bring on a dozen more. In his words, he said that the stimulus package has made ‘a huge difference.’” Sawner was also one of nine small business leaders to meet with Bush Monday, April 7 for a White House roundtable to discuss the benefits of the Stimulus Act. “It was an honor to be mentioned by the President,” said Sawner. “His stimulus package will help EdOptions in its continued growth, strengthening our mission to improve American education and the achievement of its students.” EdOptions has helped more than 1,200 schools nationwide reduce dropout rates and increase graduation rates.
